Ranger adventure on Mount Woodside

A couple weeks ago we spent an evening on the Ranger going up Mount Woodside on the north side of the Fraser River.  The mountain was quiet and the scenery lovely.  The company was, of course, the best :)  The girls love going for rides and Brynlie spent the evening looking for mud to drive through :)

Chelsie with her face painting, compliments of Trask's customer appreciation day.  Brynlie was sleeping in the truck when I took this picture before we headed up the mountain.
The view of Agassiz's fields from part way up.
We were looking for a place to have a campfire but never did find a good spot.  Instead we came across this hang-gliding jump off.  The view was great so we stopped to enjoy the scenery and to watch as Shawn jumped.  I'd never seen anyone actually get into the air to hang glide, so it was pretty neat.

 Laying out his 'wing'
Ready to go - pulling it up to catch some wind
The wind caught, he began to run away - towards the edge
And he ran until he was in the air! :)

Watching it made me tempted to try it someday ;)

THAT would be a serious view!!
Later we saw him land in a field in {pre-arranged} Agassiz where another hang glider had placed a wind sock.  His mom, who was his ride up the mountain and home, told us that he had taken her once in a tandem harness and it was pretty amazing.
It was another special evening together with the Ranger :)

Such a special way to spend a gorgeous evening!! What it would be like to run off a cliff and float like that?!
