Brynlie Willette

With joyful hearts and thankfulness to our Lord, we are excited to announce the birth of our second beautiful healthy daughter.

Brynlie Willette Maljaars

She was born on Wednesday, July 28, a few days early (!), weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and measuring 51 cm long. We are home from the hospital and all is well. We thank God for this amazing blessing, so undeserved.

Patriotism at its best

My secret project...

It was great to have a project to work on while my mom and dad were away...besides keeping up their lawns and flowers and such, I got to redo Jodene's room - as a complete surprise for her!
Here's the chair before...

and after (using the bag the bedding came in and some ingenuity for the seat) - not bad for my first attempt at re-upholstering!

Here's the room before picture...I didn't think to take more - sorry!

And after...welcome home, little sis! 5 weeks in Europe is a LONG time to be gone!

Flowers make me happy :)

Pretty princess

A special gift from the Philippines from special grandparents...
A special auntie with a knack for beautiful pictures...
A beautiful reminder of our special little princess...

Too many pictures to show full size, so I put some together.
My favorites are the large ones :), the ones I put on my new desktop background.
Enjoy!

Pool time

We've thoroughly enjoyed my parents' pool lately. They've been away, hopefully returning tonight, but we've still had some good times there. The cool water's helped with high temperatures and being 8+ months pregnant :)
Here are a few pictures of last Thursday, when we had a family BBQ there complete with swimming, waterfights, and ice cream :) Click on the pictures to enlarge.

This little girl's becoming quite a fish...I don't have pictures of her in the big pool as I was in there with her, but you can see her pure enjoyment of it here :)

Mill Lake

Today we headed with Auntie Melissa to Abbotsford. Knowing it would be warm, we picked up iced coffees and headed for Mill Lake Park where we spent some time in the sun. We walked around the park, then Chelsie enjoyed the playground, followed by a bit of time in the very busy water park before we headed to Costco and home. Enjoy the pictures :)

Hanging out...
Braver than ever - she climbed in by herself, declared she 'just fit' and rocked the thing madly:)
"I see you, Mom!"

"Can I have another timbit and some juice, mom?"

The water was cold - very refreshing on such a lovely day! Most kids were wearing swimsuits, but getting our clothes a bit damp felt GREAT!

Baby

Yesterday (Friday) Baby had some more pictures taken...the resident doctor I had last week wasn't sure if Baby was facing the right way, so off we went for an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech asked how I thought baby was, and I immediately said "how it should be - I have a lot of foot action at the top." She said the mom's usually right, put the wand on, and immediately found the baby's head - where it should be! :) So all is well. I have 4 weeks left until D-Day. It was hard to get good 'pictures' this time, but Baby did give us this shot of lips and nose - with a hand covering the rest of the face most of the time. I'm sure looking forward to meeting this little one! Enjoy your day!

Oh Canada

Happy Canada Day! If you know Chelsie at all, you know she's rather patriotic...comes by it honestly of course ;). She loves to run around waving a flag and singing Oh Canada at the top of her lungs. Canada Day was neat for her - we had a special outing to Abbotsford which may become a yearly tradition :) The parade was excellent and the free kids activities were great - she'll enjoy them even more in the future when she can try more things (like build a tool box, climb a rock wall, slide down the hill on a box...) Enjoy the pictures!

After the parade at the fairgrounds...
