Sitting in the office with Chelsie...
"Mommy, where did we get these chairs?" (referring to the two office chairs)
"We've had them since we got married."
"Wow, they must be old..." (wait, it gets better ;))
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Well, we could always paint them!"
Definite reference to the activities of late...
a few things have been painted to give them new life. Many have not been evidenced in pictures...but here are a few.
You may remember this chair, given to us by dear neighbours...it has a new look now!
Another chair, also free to us. This one had history, as it used to belong to Oma's sister and was bought by Oma for Willetta's house. It had been recovered to work in Willetta's home, but didn't work in ours, as all of my red stayed behind in our red house :) So a new, possibly more fun, life it got. No paint here, only fabric and Briwax to darken the wood a bit.
A more recent project, a $25 headboard found on Craigslist was even made in Canada! It was supposed to be used for our spare bed, but found a new owner in Willetta, as we 'traded' the deals we'd found and kept the black sleigh headboard for ourselves :) This more feminine one looked stunning in her red bedroom!
A few ugly Walmart frames, a couple nice frames, some blue and white spray paint, and a nice gallery wall above the computer desk
Another project, still in the 'paint room' will be a new toybox for our playroom. Looking forward to getting it up here. It's also going to be white...not very original, but safe for now. Maybe once Rustoleum comes out with a nice turquoise, it will get an update ;)
And we'll leave you with a smile for this rainy BC day...at least it keeps the grass green!!
