San Diego 2

Sunday we went to hear Dr. David Jeremiah at Shadow Mountain Church and were blessed by his message and the singing of the full choir and orchestra.
Then we headed to La Jolla Coast ("La Hoya") where we enjoyed
the tall palm trees,
watching the seals and sea lions,
watching the waves crash (waiting for the next one to get us),

 the stunning views,
 running with the ocean,

 searching for sea life,
and going through a little cave.

Then we headed to Balboa Park where we cooked some macaroni on the stove on the truck tailgate for lunch :).  At 2:00 at Spreckels Organ Pavilion there was an organ concert at one of the world's largest outdoor pipe organs.  This organ used to be the largest, but has seen been outsized by a European organ so the goal is to add some more pipes to this one again :).  The organist was a local doctor and we enjoyed the first part of the concert before Brynlie wasn't feeling good - maybe too much sun?

We wandered more of this HUGE park on the way back to the truck, including this little arsty section with neat little stores and great cobblestones :)
We watched a youth orchestra practicing, then took turns being a perch for some of these 'refugee' birds.
A view of the organ pavilion from our parking lot.
We headed back to our campground as Monday's plans involved a busy day at SeaWorld - coming in the next post.  Before bed we took a bike ride along the ocean and were blessed with a beautiful sunset!

San Diego part 1

In spring break, we drove down to San Diego and enjoyed some beautiful sunshine and temperatures close to 30 degrees.  Although I didn't take as many pictures as when we were there in 2007 on our first motorhome trip, I still took a few and will show you a few over a couple of posts.
Mt Rainier, and driving in SUNshine after quite a bit of rain at home
A stop at a playground for supper and burning of some energy
Palm trees - a sure sign of California
Swim time at Campland on the Bay
 Warming up in the sunshine
Our first campsite - what a view!
Ocean and sand time - what a way to start our time in California :)

God's beauty extends from sea to sea!

PS  We're busy on this end of town packing up to move soon, so posts have been few lately - sorry!  More to come in a few days (hopefully!)

A little bit of history...

We've been hearing a lot of a song lately which has a line "A little bit of history"...
This piece of history is special to us :)

You may remember in this post that Chelsie wore a special coat made by Oma...
Now Brynlie fits the coat and it's been through 2 other great-grandaughters since Chelsie wore it, travelling to Alberta and Ontario :)
Chelsie fit the next size up this winter, and on the red coat's return to BC, we made sure to get some pictures of the two of them together!  Since we're on BC weather here, not Alberta or Ontario, it's almost too warm for these already, but we're glad we got this special shot of this little bit of history.
