Another season of Doorway has finished. I wrote more about what Doorway is here. This year, Chelsie got to go on a field trip to a private farm in Ryder Lake on the second last Wednesday. All of the kids ages 3 to 5 got to ride on a school bus up to this farm
where they got to do five exciting stations:
bouncy castle
visiting the animals in the barn (and feeding the rabbits)
hay ride behind a tractor
horse ride / visit, depending on your bravery level :)
and Chelsie's favorite - canoeing :)
Because I stayed in the kitchen at Doorway, I have no pictures of her at the farm, only of her on the bus as she left and returned. She enjoyed the field trip VERY much, despite the cool weather. It was a very wet day, but the rain held off during the hours of 9:30 to 12:30, just long enough for them to enjoy their time at the farm! What a blessing. Enjoy the few pictures.
Returning home she had a lot to say about her day!
While she was off on her field trip, Brynlie was in her usual home - the Doorway nursery. It's quite an active place, with anywhere from 5 to 9 babies at once, all under the age of 1.
This is her friend Addie. She's slightly older, but they get along famously. They're both very social.
On our last day of Doorway, we had a celebration for the moms' success this year. Many have returned to school, gotten jobs, or just worked hard in many areas. The theme was butterflies - really growing and flying. We had a special cake, decorations, and enjoyed celebrating these accomplishments. Now we have a break for the summer until September, when Doorway starts again.
Until next year :)
