Glimpses of December

At the beginning of the month, we had a Japanese exchange student for 12 days.  We enjoyed going out together, showing her a small bit of Canadian life, making cookies, and doing 'normal' family things together.  Brynlie still thinks we're going to pick Minori up at school again, at any moment!

Days spent crafting together, colouring picture, working on Christmas cards for Sister Made, and making cards for special occasions :)

Enjoying learning and performing Christmas songs, reminding us of what Christmas is truly about.
"For gracious and good is the Lord, His mercies to us never end.
His faithfulness true to His Word, through ages unending extends."
We are truly thankful for the gift He's given us in His Son.

We also realized how small our 'big' girl is :)  But she sure enjoys singing, with Gramma directing, and with the KG class!

We went to another Christmas concert last night - a birthday present for me.  It was fascinating as the instruments were very unusual - 4 beautiful harps, 2 psalteries, a variety of unique percussion instruments, and other medieval 'hurdy gurdies'.  The sound Winter Harp made was beautiful!

And of course, we enjoyed the beauty of snow, both inside and out :)

Greetings from our snow family to yours!
They're looking a bit more sad today - the only one standing is Chelsie :)

A special birthday date

Auntie Willy is very special.  For birthdays, she takes the girls to something special, starting at age 3.  Chelsie went last year to see the gingerbread house contest and pick out special Christmas presents for Mommy and Daddy.  This year she was SUPER excited to hear the Disney on Ice was all about princesses.  We took our very own princess along last Saturday and definitely enjoyed the show!!

The stars of Disney welcomed us!
Of course, our favorite princess story is Cinderella :)
The mice making her dress

 I can't go like this!
The 'magical' carriage and ball gown
 The prince sees Cinderella
 They 'dance'

This was from Rapunzel - the number of skaters, use of lights and a few props were very well done.

A decked out pair came to say goodbye
along with all of the Disney princesses and they princes, including Cinderella
And this horse was great - 2 skaters made him and he was excellent!
A whole host of skaters in their finery :)
The sparkling princess crown.  It was a great show!!

Play and work

We took a quick trip over the pond to Victoria 10 days ago to spend some time with Curtis and Monique who have moved there :)  Brian was away on a men's retreat, so Willetta, Jodene, Chelsie, Brynlie and I went together, bringing a good dose of estrogen to Curtis' house!  We had a lovely time - the only complaint was it was too short.
The ocean was gorgeous
the leaf fights were fun

 the time together was special,
 the views were breathtaking,

 and the company superb.

Willetta and I have also been busy with another undertaking.  We've started a business together!  She's had a business called Designs by Willetta for several years.  Now we've replaced that with Sister Made, as we hope to do our designing and crafting together.
We've been doing digital card designs, announcements and invitations already, and hope to participate in some craft shows next year with digital and crafty products.

Check out our Facebook page too - we have a giveaway planned!  Click on the picture's caption below to go to our website and learn more about getting cards designed by us :).  You don't have to be local - with email and online printing, we can work worldwide!
