Fun and games, eh?

We're back home again, and it's good to be home after a busy Wednesday to Monday. Wednesday we left Mom and Dad's house shortly after 5 (AM!) and headed for Kimberley. The roads were quiet due to the unearthly hour ;)

Stretching their legsOur mini family vacation included 2 nights in Kimberley in a beautiful ski condo rented by Mom and Dad (thanks again!). The place was brand new, owned by a couple from Calgary. It was great for our couple of days there. Wednesday night we relaxed, swam in the pool, and went to bed on time, all tired after a day of driving. But we were sure to show our patriotism, too! Happy Canada Day :). We had planned to go to Cranbrook for the fireworks, but they didn't begin until 10:45 and were 20 minutes away, so we were glad to sleep instead.
Thursday morning, the guys hit the golf course while the ladies poked around the shops in Kimberley's Platzl and met one shop owner who was a yodelling woodcarver :) He had a CD playing with himself singing Edelweiss, but at first we didn't believe it was him!

In the afternoon, Mom, Dad, Curtis, Brian and I went for a walk to Marysville Falls and back in the warm sunshine. It was a beautiful walk (think Rotary Trail) but it was pretty warm!


When we returned, we enjoyed the sunshine and/or a game of rummy...

then played keep away with the frisbee with Chelsie thoroughly enjoying being in the middle of the action - she giggled and laughed as we played around her :) Do you like Brian's nice shirt? It is no longer...let's just say the game got a bit rough!

At night we played a new RANDOM game - Quelf. Quite the hilarity! Dad shed a few tears with his laughter at the funny situations this game creates...

Friday morning, after brunch in Cranbrook, we drove a few minutes to Fort Steele where we enjoyed several hours of entertainment. The actors in the village did a great job! And then we headed for Fort Macleod and this Saturday wedding:
